All four member societies confirm participation in the renewed AAC
The Society of Acoustics (Singapore), SVAM, AAVI and TAAV have each confirmed their participation in AAC as a society-led regional platform, and have begun naming their representatives.
Following consultation during July and August 2026, all four national societies have confirmed their participation in the ASEAN Acoustics Commission on a renewed, society-led footing: each society appoints its own representative, responsibility for chairing rotates between countries, and decisions are taken by consultation and consensus.
Representatives named so far are Alfred CH Tan (SAS), Prof Benjamin Soenarko (AAVI) and Dr Sorasak Danworaphong (TAAV). SVAM will name its representative following its committee transition.
Dr Woon Siong Gan, founding president of AAC, continues as Honorary Chair and Senior Adviser.
