About AAC

The ASEAN Acoustics Commission is a regional cooperation platform for recognised national acoustical societies in ASEAN.

AAC supports the exchange of knowledge, professional experience and scientific developments in acoustics, noise and vibration. It creates opportunities for joint conferences, technical workshops, education, research collaboration, standards dialogue and international engagement.

AAC complements the work of national societies. It does not replace their responsibilities, activities or independence.

Eight objectives

1. Promote awareness and understanding of acoustics, noise and vibration.
2. Support regional exchange between researchers, practitioners, educators, students, industry and government.
3. Facilitate conferences, workshops, webinars and professional-development activities.
4. Encourage cooperation in education, research, measurement, standards and good professional practice.
5. Strengthen existing national acoustical societies and support the development of societies in ASEAN countries where none currently exists.
6. Build relationships with international acoustics and vibration organisations.
7. Preserve and share regional knowledge through publications, proceedings, recordings and other technical resources.
8. Support initiatives that are more effective through regional cooperation than through the work of one national society alone.
