AAC has developed through the regional conferences organised by its participating societies.

- AAC is founded
AAC was established as a regional platform for the national acoustical societies of ASEAN by Dr Woon Siong Gan, its founding president, and Michel Rosmolen. - 2023
- 1st ASEAN International Acoustics Conference
Held online on 9 May 2023 under the theme International Noise Awareness, with participation from the societies of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. - 2024
- 2nd ASEAN International Acoustics Conference
Organised with AAVI on 2 and 3 December 2024, combining a technical workshop with parallel technical sessions. - 2026
- Renewal as a society-led platform
All four participating societies confirmed a renewed governance model: one representative per society, a rotating chair, and decisions by consultation and consensus. Dr Gan continues as Honorary Chair and Senior Adviser. - December 2026
- 3rd ASEAN International Acoustics Conference
Hosted by SVAM on 9 December 2026 in hybrid and online format, and the first in the series presented from the outset as a joint AAC conference.
